For men who like the shave on a schedule. Pick a visit, a barber and a day, and the chair is yours every fourth week.

Your first shave

What a first visit looks like, from the booking to the next one.

    Step 1: Book the shave

    Choose First shave on the booking page, and a barber. A deposit holds the time and goes toward your visit.

  2. 02

    Step 2: Arrive

    Come to 86 Exchange Street a few minutes before your time. Your barber meets you at the chair and takes your coat.

  3. 03

    Step 3: In the chair

    Warm towels first to soften the beard, then lather and a slow straight-razor shave in two passes. A cool towel and balm close the visit. Plan on about an hour.

  4. 04

    Step 4: Afterward

    Your barber tells you how to look after your skin until next time and holds the next chair if you want the club. Nothing is booked without your say.

    Bernie opened Whisk to give the straight-razor shave a room of its own. He takes the first shaves and the long visits. Works Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

    Becca does the club's monthly shaves and the beard shaping, and she is the one to ask about a first beard line. Works Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

Warm towels, a new blade, no line

Whisk takes appointments only, so there is no walk-in line and no board to watch. Towels come warm from the steamer, a new blade goes in for every shave, and tools are disinfected between clients.

    Warm towels to soften the beard, lather brushed on, and a slow straight-razor shave in two passes. A cool towel and balm to finish.

Can I walk in?

Whisk takes appointments only. Book on the booking page, call or text, and your barber starts at your time.

How does the shave club work?

Pick a visit, a barber and a day, and we hold that chair every four weeks. The first three visits are the term, then the club runs month to month. You can move a visit with 24 hours' notice.

How long does a hot shave take?

A hot-towel shave takes 45 minutes and a first shave 60. The menu shows the minutes for every service.

Will a straight-razor shave suit my skin?

Tell your barber about sensitive skin or a recent nick when you book, and again in the chair. They change the pressure and the passes, or suggest another service. A new blade is used for every shave.

Can I book a specific barber?

Yes. Choose Bernie or Becca on the booking page. Club visits stay with the same barber.
